I have seen of late as well as price quotes from friends who have also had LASIK done more recently. My costs included all of the pre-surgery appointments and the post-surgical care too. I did not require any enhancements (additional surgery), but if I had needed additional surgery I would have had to pay a few hundred extra.
I have come to the conclusion that one can expect a total approximately $1700 to $3000 per eye. That seems like a big spread, but your final costs depend on the kind of LASIK you have, the amount of correction necessary and surrounding variables like pre and post surgical care given. My best advice regarding these alleged super low priced LASIK procedures is to be highly suspicious of these often heavily promoted rock bottom prices. They may be leaving out the cost of for necessary services like pre-surgical exams and aftercare just to lure you to their office where you will likely be given the high pressure sales tactics. At the end of it all, when the final price of your procedure and extras are added up, their prices are in line with or greater than other surgeons. These ads may also be neglecting to disclose the eligibility qualifications to actually receive the low cost being promoted. Eligibility standards may be such that a fraction of potential patients can actually get their surgery done for the promoted cost. As always, do your investigating thoroughly and ask as many questions as you feel you need to in order to be clear on the amount you will be paying and exactly what that price includes. Although the cost of LASIK was a major concern for me too, there was no chance I would have gone with a LASIK center entirely based on the fee.
Financing is a way a lot of patients select to pay for their LASIK eye surgery. Most LASIK providers typically offer a financing option, but not all will.
